We draw outdoors, and build what we draw.
Grondlijn is a small atelier in Leiden: design and construction under one person responsible. Not a separate gardener after someone else’s mood image.
The work starts with the ground. Clay, sand, made-up layers from previous occupants. Anyone who tiles over that later buys a pump.
Then the water: where it falls, where it may go, where it must not stand against the façade. Only when level and fall are right do we talk about the colour of a tile.
Planting is structure. A multi-stem that has its crown in year three is not an accessory. We calculate density at mature size, not on planting day.

Leads earthworks, paving and timber. Six days on the plot, one day on the drawing.
Planting and aftercare
Noor Dekker
Plant lists, suppliers, the first two growing seasons. Keeps track of what takes and what stands too wet.

Leiden, Leiderdorp, Oegstgeest, Voorschoten, Den Haag, Zoetermeer, Alphen aan den Rijn, Gouda. Beyond that on request, if the plot is worth the journey.
